As many of you will know Claire Véry, owner of Natural Bread, hails from across the Channel and to help celebrate this family heritage and la Fête Nationale Française on July 14th we have chosen a French classic financier cake as our Cake of the Month for July.

The financier is a traditional small cake, baked in an individual mould, usually in the shape of a small rectangular loaf. Our July Tricolore Financier cakes are handmade and baked with fresh raspberry and blueberry, picking up the red, white and blue colours of the French flag. The cake is really light and moist: perfect for summer picnics, great with sandwiches as part of an afternoon tea, and a wonderful summer dessert with fresh berries and cream.

Tricolore Financiers are available throughout July from our central Woodstock bakery shop, open 7 days a week. They are also available to order by our wholesale & stockist customers. We also sell all of our cakes as whole cakes / full trays / batches for anyone looking for a special treat to serve at birthdays, weddings and special occasions throughout the year. Bon appetit!
