Claire Véry, owner of Natural Bread, visited her family in France this summer and September’s Cake of the Month, a Matcha Green & Citron Amandier, was inspired by her travels. The Amandier is traditional provencal almond cake and this recipe is from Claire’s sister, Stefanie, who lives in the South on the lower slopes of the Mont Ventoux. Stefanie has taken a classic French bake and given it a modern twist.
The Matcha Green & Citron Amandiers are Gluten Free, Dairy Free and suitable for Vegans. They are handmade and baked with ground almonds, oat milk & organic matcha green tea powder and then finished with a citron icing. The individual cakes are light, fresh and moist: perfect with a pot of our Jing specialist loose leaf teas. The Amandiers are available throughout September from our central Woodstock bakery shop, open 7 days a week. They are also available to order by our wholesale & stockist customers.
We also sell all of our cakes, as whole cakes / full trays / batches for anyone looking for a special treat to serve at birthdays, weddings and special occasions throughout the year.
